"If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns" is circular logic, and works for anything.

"If poodles are outlawed, only outlaws will have poodles". Because having a poodle is against the law, so if you own one, you are outside the law.

Here's some more circular logic for you:

If there were no guns to be carried, nobody would carry guns, including criminals.

Why do conservatives think there would be no crime if every one was armed?
Most crimes are committed for money, not murder.
And they won't go getting jobs to get the money for their drugs, no matter who was armed.
The rather boring fact is that most criminals are pretty stupid, they'll commit crimes because that's what they know, not being bright enough to push a mop or show up at a job.
That's not going to change. Even if we all end up shooting each other in the process.
