Why does the Bush Administration get a Pass....From the Obama administration?

Postby han » Sun Dec 18, 2011 5:56 pm

I know there are so many of you on here that hate this President.
Spending
Jobs
Health Care
It's all about Obama..except..it isn't.

The reality is..
Bush signed off on Tarp
Bush entered us into two 1-3 trillion dollar wars
Bush Tax cuts cost at a minimum 1.7 trillion (more like 2.7)
When he left office we were losing 750k Jobs a month (I know it's the congress's fault)
Foreclosures were going through the roof
and health insurers were going up at 19% annually .. the single largest contributor to personal Bankruptcies....
But Most of all Bush's war time policies allowed for ..torture, rape, murder, kidnapping, eves dropping etcetcetc

If there's any real complaint to be made against Obama..isn't it for not holding the prior administration accountable? And by not addressing these radical departures from Constitutional law and Geneva treaty behaviors ..he sets a bar that says "Any administration can do whatever it wants..once they are gone they are beyond reproach"

Mr. Obama, blocked video and pictures from torture facilities that showed American troops raping men women and children "FACT" , He continues until this day The Drone Attacks "Fact" and the rendition/Black Opps out of country holding centers "Fact"

He also shoveled money right into the hands of the Banks and put all sorts of Bush people and wall street people in key positions of authority while completely leaving the Mortgage and Toxic assets untouched by and large..

If you're an Obama Basher and you don't acknowledge any of that you aren't honest and if you are an Obama supporter and you ignore all of that, you are no better.

Shouldn't all administrations have to Stand accountable for their actions?

Fair enough, I suppose. But you're approaching this as a hard liner. I think if you were there in the administration with the power to make the changes you're proposing you'd see things less like a hard liner, and more like a pragmatist.

Some people say the worst thing about Bush was that he was so bad that people started voting for Democrats.

republicans are taught to be against educating themselves. The are against pyschology or they could see how bad the subliminals are on Fox. They have no clue they are being brainwashed. The drug compnaies have taken the life of every republican I know of & I don't mean they are dead, I mean every one of them I know is now under some kind of drug brainwashing. They have some kind of health problem that they went to a doctor about & then the drugs they were were put on took their ability to think for themselves. I know not all dems understand holistic health but this is the huge difference often between the parties.

Why does the Bush Administration get a Pass....From the Obama administration?

The primary problem at the end of Bush's presidency was the housing and debt market crash. That was something inevitable eventually but was from years upon years of policies of promoting (and in most cases forcing) banks to take up high risk loans to people who weren't likely to be able to ever pay it back. All was fine until the market finally took a little dip which then turned into a big collapse due to the number of bad loans out there. I firmly believe that it would have happened regardless of who was in office because it had been building for decades.

The other problem that frustrates me is that Obama forgets that he was serving in Congress for the last two years during Bush and is not free and clear from some of the things going on. For instance, Obama was fully on board for TARP back when it was being written.

Tax cuts haven't cost us anything. Tax cuts are not an expense. If you're losing money due to them then you aren't doing your job of cutting spending and managing budgets. I'd like to at least see government attempt to cut spending at some point before just assuming we can't afford tax cuts. How about an overall 10% spending cut requirement to get the various departments motivated to figure out ways to run themselves more efficiently. You know.. like what corporations usually do when they are in financial trouble.

My biggest beef with Obama is that (while I didn't believe him to begin with) he promised change and yet only took the problems we had and stomped on the accelerator making them exponentially worse. The problems and corruption of government aren't any better, they are growing even worse. Transparency and accountability would be great but I'm not seeing any improvements.

One question I have though is... while Bush's poll numbers reflected the problems, why are Obama's numbers not truly reflecting the problems that have continued? They've dropped but there seems to be some base support group that truly thinks he can do no wrong.
