Are they worried about the dems losing a large portion of their base if we are REQUIRED to prove that we are who we say we are when we go to vote?
And liberals, DO NOT give me any bunk about "disenfranchising minority voters." That argument is 100% pure hogwash.
1. There are four months left until voting day. If someone is too busy to take 1 day off to go to their local registry place, and get a valid, legal, photo ID of SOME type (Driver's license, state I.D., passport, military I.D., etc), then that is THEIR problem. They have to make the time. It's an excuse for being lazy. Nothing more.
2. While it may cost you the same price as two peoples' meals at your local Wendy's, it's NOT that hard to save up a couple dollars to pay for a photo I.D. especially when you KNOW the election is coming up. If you care that much, stick to a single cheeseburger for a couple months and watch the savings add up. Quit getting those double and triple stackers.
3. ONLY U.S. citizens are allowed to vote. Thus, a voter I.D. law is meant to keep the following from voting:
-Unregistered voters (Constitution requires registration)
-The deceased (a great deal of fraud involves the dead voting)
-Illegal Alien CRIMINALS (You're not a U.S. citizen. You don't have the right to vote. PERIOD.)
-Anyone else who is NOT legally authorized to vote by the U.S. Constitution
4. Voter I.D. laws affect and apply to EVERYONE. I assume some "poor white person" would have just as much trouble as these poor minorities you keep referring to. Race has NOTHING to do with it. And frankly, I find the insinuation that only minorities would be affected to be rather insulting. The left seems to have a rather low opinion of what minorities are capable of on their own.
Now... that being said, let's get to the REAL reason the left hates this, for all intents and purposes, VERY reasonable idea.
