During arguments or fights the mother-in-law is pictured as taking their child's side.

TV is not real life.

It's an old-fashioned misconception.

People now know that everything is individual.

My mother-in-law is great.

It probably is linked to the idea of a child being semi-orphaned (as in having a parent, but an abusive one who is not "really" your parent) opens them up to the chance for adventure. Children's book writers have written about these topics.

Why mother-in-law projected as cruel in all families?

Naturally developed story from olden days. Now, it is the turn of daughter-in-law. There is no power to mother-in-laws now to show cruelty.

It is true only on an individual basis. As Christians, we strive to heal our relationships. What was once bad for me is now good. She loves me like a daughter and I love her like my mother. We have been in each others lives for 17 years and have only gotten this close within the past couple of years. She was very ill for a while and that changed just about everything negative between us. Thank God she is in good health now.
