Okay this is how it works. Most countries mainly the US don't allow certain things in the country. They make you pay for expensive prescription. There are alot of natural cures for those things. Some countries have a semi cure for aids. You thing Magic Johnson who has aids survived by prescription? He has money to fly to some third world country and get natural.treatment."Who controls the medical industry ?" Excellent question.
At this point, it's mainly insurance companies and the government, which is a puppet for the insurance companies.
As physicians, we really do want to help keep people healthy. There is enough illness and injury to keep us busy without us wanting people to be unwell.
As for alternative medicine, when there is objective proof that something works, most of us will use it. Anecdotal reports are not evidence - randomized, prospective double blind studies are.
"We are more sick now then we were 50 years ago or even 100." Where is your evidence for that statement? What was the average life expectancy then? How well did premature babies do 100 years ago? How many women died in childbirth? (Since 1900, infant mortality has decreased 90%, and maternal mortality has decreased 99%.) How many kids didn't make it to adulthood? Check your facts.

As physicians, we can only recommend that our patients eat better, exercise more, lose weight, not smoke, not drink to excess, not abuse drugs, etc. It is up to them to act on that advice, and many, many choose not to. It isn't fair to blame the physician for the actions (or inactions) of the patient.
Insurance companies profit at the expense of both doctor and patient, but they've bought all the congressmen, so there won't be any meaningful changes there.
Guess I'm done ranting now.
