Will a previous traffic ticket prevent me from getting my license?

I just started driving school to get my license and today the instructor said that if you have a delinquent traffic ticket or warrants then it will prevent you from getting a license. I got a ticket a year ago for no license, but it got paid off...will this prevent me from getting my license this time?

If it was payed off, then I think you'll be fine.

In some jurisdictions an underage ticket for driving without a license get you banned from having a license until you're 21 or some other period of time. So how old are you and where are you?
