If you have documentation they were given notice, then they lose. Their stuff is not their stuff anymore, it's yours.

If your last statement is true (about your state laws and your documented attempts) then you are fine. She can take you to court, however all you'd have to do is show the evidence of your attempts to contact her and you'd be fine.

Based on the grammar of the letter I doubt the person would be able to navigate the small claims court well enough to file a case to begin with.

She can sent whatever she likes. If you complied with the local laws, she doesn't have a leg to stand on .

If you still have the stuff and feel generous, let her have it.
