Will the continued Religious and corporate repression in the USA reverse the flow of immigration?

The removal of Thomas Jefferson from the school books in repressive states look like the final straw in bringing the USA to the level of arrogance and ignorance of Europe in the seventeenth century.

Europe was being run by the Church and a few large corporate concerns at the time and the suffering population fled to "the new world".

The Greedy corporate concerns need the Church in order to keep people repressed and now it looks like the take-over is becoming final. Texas is removing Thomas Jefferson from the school books so that the children will become ignorant of the type of personality required to do something for freedom.

Freedom is something to be fought for and corporations and the church has turned the fight into a fight for continued repression and ignorance.

Who cares if people have a strong libido? A healthy libido make life more enjoyable and as long as we don't lie about it it harms no one. Basing laws and morals on the Jewish legend of Abraham is however destructive to society; no such person ever existed as historical research makes plainly obvious.

You have some interesting responses here. I would love to be able to agree, but cannot.

I do not agree that people are innately evil and that rules like the Ten Commandments are necessary to keep us in line.

We are all born pure. There is no such thing as original sin - but the teaching of it to our children convinces generation after generation that we humans are not good.

We are the creators of our own reality and if we want a human race filled with love and kindness, we must so live. We know that "lack" causes "fear" causes people to do bad things. Filling every body with enough food, keeping every body safe results in a peaceful society.

A peaceful society also allows individuals to perform work which makes them happy and fulfilled, not miserable. When all humans on the face of the planet have enough food, gainful employment at something they enjoy doing - Then - there will be no need for immigration. Just vacations to visit other lands for pleasure.

Don't come at me that this is not possible, because the only thing which makes it impossible is your belief that it is not possible. What we believe determines our world.

The flow of immigration is already lower due to the economy, we don't have the jobs to give them that we used to and they are staying home.
As to its being reversed, that's not going to happen, there is an ebb and flow to the amount of freedoms and liberties that a particular society allows. With the advent of the Moral Majority, which was really neither, to the dominance of the Religious right, to their present day waking up to the fact that they have been had and turned into a one note party of no abortion to the exclusion of other facets of Christian interests the tides have moved and are now edging into a more normal path.
The majority of Jewish thinking is far more accepting of the joys of sex between married people than the Christian thinking. Even in the most orthodox Jewish homes, sex and joy are part of married life.
Its not Jewish thinking that is destructive to society, its the remnants of Christian Puritanism with its emphasis on sin that stifles society sexually.
The Church has always fought for repression and ignorance, they want all people uninformed so their teachings aren't questioned, or their own mythology examined rationally. Faith is purely emotionally based.
Laws, based on the Ten Commandments are needed for the common good. There always have been people ready to take by force that which belongs to others, and a society either controls that or becomes vicious and violent, and very unsafe for the continuation of the species.
