Hello,
I am in the early stages(very early)of starting a wine brokering venture in the state of Florida. Essentially, I will be representing a group of wineries from Italy, selling the wines, and taking orders from Importers/wholesalers. I will not be importing the wines or warehousing the wines myself. i will be coordinating the orders from the wholesalers from Italy and to their own warehouses.
I suppose there are a few facets to my question;
1.Acting as a broker, is there a particular license that i need to obtain to be in compliance with the laws in the state of Florida?
2 In trying to determine that the ultimate wholesale price of said wines are in line with the prices of competing wines, I am trying locate a formula for how these wines will be marked up by the wholesaler. I realize that the standard markup in the business is 33% but there are shipping costs, state excise taxes, and other costs I've neglected that will factor into the final wholesale price.
Any assistance or insight you may be able to lend would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
