The company that I work for is forcing me to work 12 hour work days 7 days a week. They have said that it is 'legal' for them to work us 13 days in a row (12 hour shifts) without a day off. Is this true?

Yes, that is true. They could work you 24 hours a day 7 days a week if they want, as long as you're properly compensated.
