No. As far as I understand the only way our medical advances help in such a situation is that a parent may be able to tell if their child is deformed or otherwise compromised, so that the parent can choose whether or not to abort the fetus. Science so far isn't able to undo the potential disasters that can occur when sleeping with a family member. I can understand that there are situations that could arise where one might fall in love with a family member, or feel that such feelings are okay due to the society they were raised in. However I cannot see the connection between two unrelated homosexuals (who cannot reproduce) being able to be married, and two blood-related heterosexual (capable of reproduction) being allowed to marry. I feel like there is a thick line there about 50 feet wide. Technically if the members are not heterosexual then there is no chance of reproduction, so it remains illegal because it's seen as "icky" and being too close to something that is understandably (thank you science!) taboo. I also feel like those contributing to the high divorce rate probably don't stay up at night thinking "if only i could marry my cousin, i'd never get a divorce again". Even in such a scenario it would just cause the family to break up and choose sides in the relationship, undermining the support structure for both involved if the relationship were to turn toxic.
