Someone on here had this assignment for class and was looking for ideas, and I thought it was interesting and decided to try it myself. See the challenge, objective, topic, and criteria below.
Soo...here goes.
YOUR CHALLENGE: Write a Dialogue ONLY conversation between two characters.
TOPIC: The dialogue must center around two people who have committed a crime. You CANNOT reveal the crime they committed. They CANNOT say anything about about having committed a crime (the reader has to assume it from the conversation without you telling them). Think of them as talking in code about it. I use the word "crime" loosely. It can be them doing something they shouldn't have done.
YOUR GOAL: Make the conversation so interesting that people will 1) wish they could keep reading and 2) wonder what in the heII the characters did (in a good way, not in a confused way).
THE CRITERIA: It must be between two people. It must be dialogue ONLY. No action beats. The only dialogue tags you can use are 'she said', 'he said', and the character's name so we can keep track of who's talking. Because its worth repeating: They CANNOT say anything about about having committed a crime; it should be implied from the conversation. [Other criteria are mentioned in the TOPIC.]
LASTLY: Don't be afraid to think outside the box and be creative! Good luck with it. :)
[The conversation can be as long as you want it to be.]
