A conviction to this charge will result in a suspension of my license in NY?

Postby fionnbharr » Sat Apr 02, 2011 8:46 am

I got three tickets in Bronxville, NY. One is for unregistered motor vehicle, one is for uninsured motor vehicle and the other is for pass the steady right light, right turn on red light. I have never been pulled over asking for registration so I wasn't aware that my car is not registered in Illinois where I bought the car. I thought the dealership handled the registration when I bought the car. No insurance i just moved to NY from IL and I'm still in the process of insurance policy shopping. I didn't pass the red light I was just kinda making a U-turn at a cross road. All the tickets note that a plea of guilty is equivalent to a conviction after trial. If you are convicted, not only will you be liable to a penalty, but in addition your license to drive a motor vehicle, and your registration, if any, are subjected to suspension and revocation as prescribed by law. That being told, do I have a choice other than finding a traffic lawyer to help me win the case, otherwise my license will be suspended? The cop did not tell me if I plead guilty, my license will be suspended.

I never got any ticket like this before, it's kinda like a court oder but with no option to lose the case if I want my driving privilege valid. Help please?
