A question to americans. What do you guys think about drone wars and drone attacks in Pakistan?

Postby ayize » Sun Jul 29, 2012 4:01 pm

I am a Pakistani and i seriously want these attacks to end. These are serious violations of international law and what about those human rights u people talk about? dont tell me those are only for americans and other nato allies. this is my opinion. i want to know what does american public think about it. there is so much i want to write here, but i thought to just let it be (as the great Beatles said :) )
P.S no offense to americans please, i dont hate anyone except those who disrupt peace in society, whoever they are... americans, taliban, al-qaeda, pentagon, etc. and so many innocent people die in these attacks... i honestly want this to end. Give Peace a Chance... (Beatles <3 )

I trust and hope it will end. But it is not only the Untited States. There is more to this picture than meets the eye. Why should the forces that are there to fight and help protect the True Citazens of Pakistan. And you have IED's and Sucide Bombers and a regime that wants to control and intemadate it's own people. So if we can stand back and let a drone hover over the area and take out the thugs without endangering our solders. Take out the training camps. And the ones that wish to hide in Mosks and hide as they pretend to pray. While the whole time they are planning strkes and conspiring to kill and mame. Than yes I support the killing by drone. I am sorry. But that is just the way it is. If they want to play and fight dirty then so shall we. If they wish to hide under the cover of the public while they are warriors.

If you haven't realized already, if it isn't white, it is ok to do that and is accepted. Your deaths are obviously worthless as they will forever be known as casualties of war or excused as that repeatedly. Your government is getting paid money for each death. You elected your own corrupt leaders that are given billions to follow what we say. So, before you complain about such things, isn't it better for you to pick people that are not power, fame, money hungry as leaders in your country first? I mean it is so hypocritical.

But the fact of the matter is, your lives are classified as like insects by a majority of white americans and they classify themselves as beautiful exotic priceless beings. Not every American thinks that though, the minorities have a hard time voting against such war atrocities as they are just that, minorities. You will be surprised to hear that nearly all the minorities want an end to discriminatory and such tragic instances but are powerless due to the white vote that favors such events and overpowers them. You yourself adopt the customs and culture of such people through your media which happens to degrade your own culture and the elites in your country enforce such values on your own people by creating the resentment and ill feelings towards your own identity. You quote beatles, but couldn't quote a band from your backyard. Probably a lot of family members of that band also agree to the strikes in your country which makes this even more hypocritical. Your talk show hosts promote facebook and twitter and such sectarian causing country destroying social media promoted by such people in the US. And you are worried about drone strikes?

I think they have a secret agreement with the Pakistani govt to kill the Al Qaida guys but publicly the govt has to condemn them.
Pakistan can close off the supply lines that go through their territory - but they don't..
It is all political and managed behind the scene. I don't like drones in the USA spying on us, but we have them now.
America is a completely different country than what it was 50 years ago - it is a declining society and you can look to China & Russia being the new superpowers. With Putin at the wheel Russia will become a superpower again - but China is really the new star..

The answer is really simple
You clean up the terrorists and police your own country and we will be happy to leave you alone.
As long as your government continues to straddle the fence, and try to play both sides, all your going to get is a sore crotch and a lot of splinters.

Given that this is a war against an enemy that recognizes no borders, or separates combatants from civilians, and recognizes no government but that of their own organization, the 'west' in general, and the US in particular cannot restrict itself from attacking where, when and how it can against this self proclaimed enemy.

The portfolio of any armed force is to 'seek out and destroy the enemy'. Certain non state groups have declared unrestricted war on the west.....I suspect they have their reasons, but their reasons do not give them permission to attack anywhere or anytime they want. That's out! The US for it's part has declared total war against this non-state enemy. All the US wants is to bring this 'war' to an end. We want no territory and our efforts to install some form of 'democracy' in these regions of conflict has proven to be an exercise in futility...lesson learned!

Of course Pakistan doesn't want it's territory to be attacked, but in point of fact it's not the 'territory' being attacked, it's the terrorists organizations that are currently using Pakistani soil for what they hoped to be 'safe havens'. The US has made it clear that where ever these people land up and attempt to organize, a drone missile won't be far behind. That is the nature of this particular war.

Conclusion: The best thing that Pakistan can do is to aggressively attack and drive out these terrorists. Once gone from Pakistani soil the attacks will stop. The point here is that these people must internalize one simple idea.....they are not safe anywhere on the face of this planet, and any nation that harbors them will be subject to attacks where ever these people attempt to settle. Of course in the long term the US and the West should withdraw entirely from any Muslim held lands, stop importing their oil, not allow any Muslim people to enter the west and for the most part.....leave these people alone. In time better relations may be established, but that time is not now. The political and social waters are far to muddied. We need to divorce and go our separate ways until we can agree....no more violence, and a lot more respect.

Drone strikes are an effective way to protect ourselves from terrorists. There have been terrorists who are committed to destroying the USA and are a threat to our national security. We can not allow countries to harbor these types of terrorists. Drone strikes get far fewer civilians killed than an invasion or air force strike.
