MY FATHER WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED AT A BUSINESS FACTORY IN ANOTHER STATE, HE WAS PROVIDING THEIR GOODS WHEN AN UNLOADING DEVICE MALFUNCTIONED AND DROPPED A BUNCH OF METAL THAT KNOCKED MY FATHER AROUND AND SMASHED THEIR LEG & BASE, HE USED An AREA LAWYER AND FILED COMPLAINT THE ORGANIZATION AND THEIR INSURANCE AMITTED RESPONSIBILITY HOWEVER STARTED Balancing THE Negotiation ISSUE IN ONE INSURER FOR THE NEXT, PULLING IT OUT SO LONG AS THE MIGHT. AND MY PARENTS LAWYER WAS NEVER AT WORK AND Would not RETURN CALLS- WAS OUT-OF-TOWN EVERY OTHER WEEK BASED ON HIS SECRETARY, AND WOULD ONLY MAKE AN EFFORT TO CONTACT THE INSURANCE PROVIDER MANAGING THE Negotiation EVERY MONTH OR TWO. THE MONTH PRIOR TO THE STATUE OF LIMITATIONS WAS TO END OUR FATHERS ATTORNEY STARTED INITIALLY TO FILE SUIT, FIRST BY CONTACTING Legal COUNSEL BECAUSE STATE WHERE IN ACTUALITY THE COMPANY AND ACCIDENT WAS, WHEN HE STARTED INITIALLY TO MAKE THE CONTACT HE QUICKLY DISCOVERED THAT OKLAHOMA HAS MERELY A THREE-YEAR STATUE OF LIMITATIONS AND THE EVENT & ANY Negotiation CHANCE WAS VOID, THE ORGANIZATION WAS OFF THE HOOK OVER Annually AGO. HOWEVER WHEN HE CALLED MY FATHER, HE SAID Do not WORRY I've MALPRACTICE INSURANCE THAT'LL PAY YOU, AND PAY YOU QUICKLY SINCE IT WAS MY PROBLEM. HE APPROACHED FATHER SHORTLY NEXT AND SAID HE SWITCHED ANYTHING INTO HIS INSURANCE PROVIDER AND THERE COULD BE NO PROBLEMS, HE'D BE PAID RAPIDLY-IN THE END HE'S ALREADY WAITED MORE than 4 YEARS, WHEN IT WILL HAVE NOW BEEN HANDLED This PAST YEAR. WHICH WAS IN MARCH OF THE YEAR AND THE ATTORNEY IS AGAIN NOT RETURNING CALLS AND ALWAYS OUT-OF TOWN. I've BROWSE THE FAQ'S ON THIS MATTER, AND I'M STILL UNCLEAR & ONE INDIVIDUAL INFORMS MY FATHER HE does not REQUIRE A LAWYER TO SIMPLY FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE ETHICS BOARD, AND ANOTHER SAYS HE REQUIRES A LAWYER OR THE INSURANCE PROVIDER WILL DRAG IT OUT. INCIDENTALLY MY FATHER AND THE LAWYER UNDER CONSIDERATION LIVE IN ARKANSAS.

Your Dad needs to hire a Legal Malpractice lawyer in AR to file a lawsuit against the lawyer in AR.That's the long and short of it. Period.

They can start their own investigation and that may make the attorney play fair.Obviously, your dad shouldn't really be believing anything the attorney tells him...
There's a statute of limitations on the suit against the attorney also.
