Are there any physics prizes I could apply for!?

I made a bit of a "discovery" - nothing too brainy - and I just wondered if there were any prizes in Physics I could apply for?

I have discussed patenting my idea, but the whole thing is "problematic" in that regard!

Anyway, my "discovery" relates to capacitors, transformers, generators, electric motors, inductors... a LOT of stuff!

I'm just sitting on it right now as a trade secret without giving it to society at large. I have a VERY modest budget to work with and am not getting anywhere fast at the moment! Maybhe by the end of the year I will have an oscilloscope?! I could sell some items over the internet but it would take a long time to get a decent cashflow going.

Anyway... thoughts?
