There is a leash law in NC for cats. I had a cat that escaped(not an outdoor cat) but when I called the local shelters to see if anyone had found my cat, they told me there is a leash law on cats too. Now that I don't have a cat, I can understand why there is such a law. Regardless of the vaccinations, cats can become pests. We have a neighbor with a few cats who like to use our house as their liter box. They spray(even though they are fixed) on the side of my house and when I am in the living room or my BEDROOM to sleep, it's the most HORRIFIC smell ever! They also spray on my husband's car so as he drives to work, the smell over takes him. They climb on my screens to my antique doors(which the screens were custom ordered), and now my youngest son is very allergic to cats(that is why we had to get rid of ours), because of the cats presence on our property, he goes into allergic fits. I could go on and on! Cats, as cute and cuddly as they are, are a neusounce to your neighbors! Please respect your neighbors as well as your animal by keeping them inside!
