Asthma Attacks Related To Car Accident

Postby Aronne » Sat May 03, 2014 5:34 am

Is there any research that show asthma can be related to a car accident and PTSD? If so where can i read on it?

ANSWER: Patti,

While I am not personally familiar with a casual connection between asthma and car accidents, a quick web search using the terms "asthma attacks and car accidents" and "asthma attacks and PTSD" will give you a great deal of information to read up on and research. Looks like it may be more common than most people think.

Hope this helps.

I have done this and what I need is to find documented proof that this has happened. I was in a car accident that caused my asthma to flare up to the point i was in the hospital four time and the last one on a ventilator. I am going after the other party but need proof that this happens so they can include that in the settlement. Can you help find some documented proof. I have no idea where to go to find any.

ANSWER: Patti,

I have contacted a personal injury firm that is supposed to be getting back with me on some info that might help. I'll let you know as soon as I hear back from them.

Patti,

I'm not sure what happened to my response ... looks like it was in the answer to your initial follow-up question.

The firm I had contacted was an East Coast firm and I guess they just weren't interested in a Washington case so they never got back with me. The best bet would be to contact a local PI firm there in Washington and give the basic facts to see if they would be interested in taking the case. Keep in mind that they are going to want a pretty hefty percentage of any recovery(40% at least) so that may be a consideration in what you are will to take in dealing with the insurance company directly. Get all your facts and supporting documentation together and lay out a final offer of settlement to the Carrier. If they balk, let them know that you are fully prepared to retain counsel and escalate the matter.

Hope this helps.
