Barry Bonds In Court Again, Do You Think They Have The Evidence On Him?

Barry Bonds In Court Again, Do You Think They Have The Evidence On Him?

They've got him back in court, given the double jeopardy clause, do you consider that they have to have some strong evidence to prove he lied in court?

Barry Bonds In Court Again, Do You Think They Have The Evidence On Him?

They greater have, or the government is just grinding an ax, and will look really stupid. They may be performing this so their complete "chase" did not appear foolish, but in the process they could simply make almost everything they've carried out look foolish, and Bonds could come out searching like a poor tiny scapegoat... which I hope isn't the case... I hope it sticks. I'd like him in the Hall of Fame... but he should have to give Hank Aaron his record back... and take some lessons on humility and not-getting-a-jerkedness. Barry Bonds In Court Again, Do You Think They Have The Evidence On Him?

The government does not usually go after someone unless they have strong evidence.  They typically do not appreciate someone lying to a Grand Jury.  This is not double jeopardy as Bonds has not been tried for anything.  He was just brought in front of a grand jury for testimony before.  They now have blood samples that are supposedly positive, doping calendars, and people willing to testify against Bonds so I think there is a good chance he will be convicted.  If he is convicted it is likely he will spend 2-3 years behind bars.

Barry Bonds In Court Again, Do You Think They Have The Evidence On Him?

Having the "Evidence", and ... ...getting a "Guilty" verdict and an ensuing jail term are quite different things.   There can be no doubt that the U.S. Attorney has a strong case, because the U.S.Attorney?s office doesn?t fool around and play games. They always have the goods. It?s interesting that they actually lose somewhere around 20% of their cases even though they have good solid evidence and good lawyers trying the cases every single time.   The "O.J. trial" should have taught us all we need to know about the legal system.   You can expect Bonds, with his virtually unlimited funds, will have a whole platoon of the best lawyers there are in the entire country, and they will work to destroy the prosecution?s case in a similar way to what occurred in the Simpson trial, viz. destroy the credibility of as many witnesses as possible, and then load the jury with sympathetic black people. Done deal.   It?s a shame, but whether he "did it" or not has very little to do with it. Bonds will get away with it like Simpson did,k you read it here first.   Having put 35 years into the American Legal System I believe the answer to both of your questions is a resounding "YES!!!". No question about it. Had you asked, and I know you did not,  "Will he get away with it?" I would have hauled out another resounding "YES!!!".   Sadly, we have the legal system we want in case we are the ones charged with a crime. Unfortunately "WE" are very rarely in that situation so the bad guys of the world get to work the system to suit their own needs. That?s life...
