Can a small stress fracture keep me out of the united states marine corps?

Postby leland » Wed Apr 18, 2012 4:31 am

before i start pleas DO NOT give me the textbook rules i just want your opinion on what you think my chances are of being able to attend ocs for the marine corp. About a year ago i hyper extended my back and had a small lumbar fracture that was less than 2 mm i think was about how big it was. my Doctor said there is no limitations to what i can do and the pain should go away and that nothing can get worse so i don't have to worry about further injury. i have been living pain free for about a year with no problem with it what so ever and im a VERY physically active person. i train with a personal trainer i run i do hiking and swimming. all i am wanting to know what you think the marines would say about this? would they disqualify me? if not should i just kind of keep this under the radar and not really bring it up? thanks in advance and remember please no textbook, i want your opinion.

As long as the fracture did not or does not cause any physical limitations to your body, than you are fine. If you can still do all of your normal exercises, you have no unordinary pain, and you do not lose any physical agility, than you should be good to go.
