Stress fracture help?

Postby adalwine » Sun Nov 20, 2011 5:10 am

i noticed a pain in my leg four weeks ago after a run. I took it easy for about two weeks and the pain went away. After I noticed the difference in pain level so i continued to work out as usual. This went on for a week until i decided it was time to see a professional. The doctor concluded that it was a stress fracture after the mri. From someone with personal experience what are the best ways to recover from this injury and how long did the healing process take? Under the right circumstances could I be completely healied in 5 weeks. I leave for intense physical fitness for the military in that time frame and need to be close to 100%.

A stress fracture is just like any other break it requires from 4 to 6 weeks to heal.
It might be fine in 5 weeks.
since you are going to start training seriously in 5 weeks, you probably need a follow up with the doctor.
The best way to recover is to not put any weight or pressure on the bone.
