My friends went to work at a well known bookstore. In the contract there was an article stating that after the employee quits he can not open the same business "bookstore" for ten years after he quits.
Can the company force such laws on the employee. Can they pursue him if he does quit ?

laws vary greatly based on location.........
in the US such a clause would NOT be enforceable...........
