Can I get a Ticket For bringing a gun out on a criminal if hes around my house?

Okay i was wondering if i could get in trouble if I brought my gun out on someone that was fleeing from the cops. There was a shooting about a block from my house earlier today. A cop was shot but he is okay. I have an AR-15 loaded under my bed. There is an alley behind my house and if i pulled my gun out and made the guys who shot at the cop stop and get on the ground would i get in trouble for doing so? I live in California and i know they have somewhat strict gun laws. Just wondering.

50/50 at best though dont get involved cops are not in the mood for citizens to be standing an alleys with a gun that a suspect just went down probably get shot
