Can I get in trouble for using a trademark name in a domain I purchase?

Postby hawiovi » Fri Jul 06, 2012 3:42 am

I want to purchase some domains that have the top 30 most visited websites on the internet in the actual domain love such as ebaylove.com or amazonwins.com or googlerun.com. Is this ok to use to point these sites to my personal website?

Don't do it, they have grounds to take the name away from you, I understand that any new domain name containing eBay is automatically send a cease and desist order. Tough for the BnBbyTheBay.

Obviously you would be attempting to enrich your self by exploiting the brand names made famous by expensive advertising campaigns.

You might lookup Cyber Squatting Law to see if it touches on incorporating a trademark, I'm not sure.

When registering a domain name, stay away from trademark name. they may remove your site and take legal action to you.
