Can I still get a commercial drivers license?

I have a speeding ticket on my drivers license from about 5 months ago. Can I apply and still get a cdl with this on my record? How will it effect my chances for getting a job in the trucking industry?

yes you can get a CDL with a ticket --- as long as the ticket was not for over 15mph (considered reckless driving)

You will have trouble getting a job since it will pop up on the 5 year or 7 year MVR report. Other issues such as a credit report, etc will also help or hurt your chances. Unless you want to get a job driving a garbage truck, etc -- they will hire most anyone
