CAN SOMEONE FIND ME WITH MY IP ADDRESS?

Just recently, I was commenting back & forth on my friends wall about different topics & how we hate drugs & criminals on meetme (myyearbook) & some no life loser idiot commented back criticizing me for being a self-righteous loser so I reported & deleted it without saying anything then he comments again with nonsense so I sent him a private message insulting him

& blocked him then he told the girl I was chatting with that he has my IP address & he will prosecute me under the Texas law for cyberbulling. Sending one message then blocking them asap isn't cyberbulling. So my IP address is in the address bar at the top? How can he use my IP address to turn me into the Fedz? Can they find me with my IP address? This is bull.

you can be found if someone has your IP address, but he can't do anything really if the message you sent wasn't that bad.
he might be bluffing too because it takes some skill to find someone's IP address and if he's threatening you to report you, he's probably just a loser. Don't worry about it. Cyberbullying is long term too.
You should be fine.
If he does have your IP and if he threatens to do anything with it (like flood your IP) then you can call the cops or whatever because that's illegal. good luck

It was just an internet troll. You can't get in trouble for cyberbullying when you didn't do anything. Nonetheless, even if he did get your IP he can only find out who your internet service provider is (comcast, tds, etc). He can't get your physical home address or any of that kind of info just from an IP.

Now, if you did cyber bully him, and he had your IP, all he would have to do is hand over access to his account of whatever site you guys were on, show the cops the messages, and that's that. Then they would come investigate you, or (most likely) they would send you a letter to knock it off.

Don't worry about d-nozzles that make these wild claims.
Your Public IP (what everyone sees on the 'Net) can only be discovered up to the point of your ISP's server that dumps your traffic onto the 'Net. Beyond that, only the ISP knows who it is.

If you're paranoid about it, get a fresh IP, which is maintained by your modem (not the router).
De-power it for half an hour or so, then re-power.
If your original IP was assigned to another customer, you will get a new one.
Sometimes you have to do this a couple of times, but eventually you'll get a fresh one.

Obviously you made a mistake responding directly. But cyperbullying must include a threat not just name calling or insults. And it sounds like he also was guilty of harassment and insults. They would ask to see everything and then throw it away without doing anything.

He is just trying to scare you with the threat and it sounds like he has. But the threat has no teeth. Look seriously a what you sent and see how far a cop would take it. They wouldn't waste much time since nobody was hurt.

Bozos like this spend their time trolling and then using threats like this to scare people every day. Don't fall for it.

They can find your ISP through your ip address using ip tools like Ip-details.com . But, they can't find your exact location .

Well, Have no idea regarding this, I didn't even hear it before, actually I am a student of law and do not deals with this kind of stuff.
