Can the police tell my parents where i live?

I want to move away from my parents. My parent have my SSN# and my DOB. If they give that info to the police, will the police release my address to my par ents? I am 35 years old. The reason why I say this is because they told my parents that through my SSN#, they can locate me. I don't have have a problem with the law know about my whereabouts but not my family.

unless they report you as a missing person, I don't see why the police would tell your parents where an adult lives.

There is no universal duty for cops to maintain your secrets. There is no law prohibiting a cop from telling everyone in the world where you live.

Police do not give out information like that without a good reason. It is your right wanting to be anonymous and Police will surely not interfere (again, unless your parents can give a valid reason why they must find you). It is not their job locating family members just because your parents might want to find out. They can hire a P.I.
