Postby Vaiveahtoish » Sat Jan 04, 2014 3:50 am

Some individuals inside our neighborhood presently do not own a lawn mower, so that they are experiencing a teen-age kid come and reduce their(acre plus) lawn for them. The do not have the youngster reduce the entire lawn at one particular moment, and in fact have let 1 area method in the rear of the garden get pretty lengthy. The factor is the neighbors that adjoin the area of garden that's been release reported and named to these people about any of it. It went some thing comparable to "when are you likely to cut your lawn?" followed closely by "you can not tell me how to proceed with my yard." My dilemma is, is that correct? Could individuals in fact let their grass develop so long as they want employing the pondering that it's their individual property? Just interested...

Is There A Law On Mowing Your Lawn?

But there are often neighborhood regulations, at the quite least in towns and suburbs.  The details rely on your city.  Phone City Region wherever you are and request them.  Or the area, or whatever. If you reside in a location with a neighborhood association, they can assist, also.  it is not a regulation, but neighborhood organizations function by contract.  If the agreement says that they've to slice the grass, then your community association can sue them. If not 1 of them contains a law, or really wants to prosecute, then you definitely're outta luck.  Thereis no national law on it, and I doubt there are any situation laws.

Is There A Law On Mowing Your Lawn?

In Texas, local community associations control this.  They can fine a property owner if they violate the home appearance rules.  Home owners cannot withdraw from the association.  It is mandatory with each house sale/purchase. If the house is not in a managed community or city, then only when the property becomes a danger can others step in and override the owner's wishes.  People have to go to court, and get the government to pay to eliminate the hazard, and then the government tries to recoup the cost from the owner. I hope this helps.

There isn't a federal law But there are usually local laws, at least in cities and suburbs.  The details depend on your city.  Call City Hall wherever you are and ask them.  Or the county, or whatever. If you live in a place with a community association, they can help, too.  It's not a law, but community associations work by contract.  If the contract says that they have to cut the lawn, then the community association can sue them. If none of them has a law, or wants to sue, then you're outta luck.  There's no federal law on it, and I doubt there are any state laws.  PamPerdue 79 months ago Please sign in to give a compliment. Is There A Law On Mowing Your Lawn?

Postby Luigi » Wed Feb 12, 2014 3:56 am

I can grow my lawn however damned high I want it! And if the neighbours don't like it they can move. Of course I was very careful when I bought my house to make sure there were no neighbourhood associations, agreements or any of that stuff. Plus I live in the desert, where lawns don't tend to grow anyway. But when the monsoons kick in, the weeds sometimes get pretty obnoxious. But I like to let them grow and then harvest them at the end of monsoon season for my compost heap. No government agency in the world can prosecute me for growing weeds in the desert for compost purposes.

There could be Most towns have zoning ordinances that prohibit weeds/grass growing above a certain height.  My town just lowered the maximum height. it's all individually determined by your city, town, township, etc. so I can't really tell you for sure IF you have an ordinance regarding this or what it might entail.   You can contact your city hall or other governmental unit to find out exactly what their ordinances are regarding this issue, or possibly go into your library where they should have the City Code; or they might have it online.  When someone in my town is in violation, the city will send someone out to mow the lawn and bill it to the home owner.  My guess is that it's probably cheaper to hire a neighborhood boy than pay the city bill.   If you are in a residential area, I would pretty much assume that there is an ordinance regarding lawn mowing. It's no difference than leaving piles of junk, junk cars, things like that in the yard.  If you live out of a town or city, though, they might not be as stringent.
