It has always been my understanding that yes our forefathers fought for our freedoms to include freedom of worship without persecution but I also believe that somewhere in the Declaration of Independence there is a phrase "Separation of Church and State" that is supposed to protect citizens like myself and others from being forced to live by laws that are forced on us that are made, pushed through, or used to affect other laws in some way by lawmakers who's purpose is to supposed to govern and influence decisions for the good of all citizens not just the ones who believe the same beliefs.
How can someone be a fair and impartial force for all United States citizens (who have numerous different religious beliefs) while pushing their own beliefs on an entire country. Members of Congress have been failing at this one simple and maybe one of the most important ideas of our Constitution for hundreds of years.
I am not a college grad who can recite examples of laws or instances at whim. I am a normal blue collar citizen of the United States who would like to have sanity brought to our government and Mr. President I believe you are trying your best. I don't envy you whatsoever. My family and I are praying for you and yours and no matter what happens we still believe in you sir.
Thank you
