you take out a grievance against an attorney and hopefully start an investigation into the case BUT you lose because the Court thinks there is not enough evidence or whatever. Can that attorney sue you?

Can You Be Sued If . . .

I suppose that the ACTUAL issue is one or both of the next: (1) can it be somehow illegitimate or perhaps a breach of moral guidelines to prosecute a customer that has reported against you? (2) might the attorney succeed in this suit? When The attorney beats up a phony situation simply to retaliate against you for worrying, then that would be considered a breach of moral guidelines and he wouldn't succeed. About the other hand, when the match is genuine, the truth that the customer reported is wholly irrelevant.

So, yes. There are possible actions here.
For instance, if the complaint was false and malicious, state law may allow the attorney to sue for defamation.
