I know some law got passed a year ago, but I see the sites are still running. Can someone tell me what the deal is?

yeah , of course you can download PKR and add some money and get playing although i am heavy convinced that they are fixed to take more money then you make but what do i know ? Have fun and remember to quit while you are a head lets say you have 20 $ and then you win back 45$ take out your 20 and play with the computers 25$ you will see why i told you this in the long run but until then my friend enjoy.

The law passed was the UIGEA or Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. It prevents banks from sending funds to off-shore gambling sites, not from players playing in the games themselves. This prevents U.S. players from sending money via their bank to an offshore site. Although, us players are allowed to play.

The DOJ just said that according to its interpretation of the wire act, poker is still allowed on the federal level. Some states like Washington do have laws against internet poker. Most laws are focused on the operators and don't have anything to do with the players

yeah of course
