Can you use Imposition of Suspension in South Dakota for Drug Charges?

I have a friend who was caught in South Dakota with over 10 lbs of marijuana ( Federal Sentencing). She is currently still there and someone there mentioned that she can file for a Suspension of Imposition ( Get out of jail free card). I have been reading up on it but I dont think it works for Federal Charges, Only state, as well as I read that they can only imply this law if the charges dont have a minimum sentence. Anyone can possibly help?

Friend should hire a lawyer!
It is a Class 4 felony to possess one to ten pounds of marijuana in SD.
If approved there is a juvenile diversion program or the subject of a suspended imposition of sentence.
This is not a get out jail free card. It will be several years of probation, Drug education classes, community service, fines, loss of drivers license....

Also forgot to mention she is over 21, she doesnt live in that state.
