Changing Last Name

Postby Carling » Sun May 18, 2014 5:43 am

Does anyone know what PA says about changing a child's last name? The child has had the mother's last name since birth and now the father wants her to have his.
Can he do this? What is PA's stand on this?

The only way to change the name is by court order. If mom objects, the court will not order it.

A judge has to approve it.
No state requires that kids carry Dad's last name.
I believe that would be unconstitutional.
