Tell me again how Pres Obama and his administration put guns in the hands of Drug Cartels and criminals?

It's not the conservatives giving out the guns. It's the liberals and criminals illegally getting and using them.

Guns are meant to kill people. Not wound, kill.

The very few who use guns to harm others (rather than the vast majority who purchase a firearm to protect themselves) would find means to get their hands on a gun if they really desired to kill someone. Even with gun restricting laws there would still be sick murderers in our world. It sounds pessimistic but lets face it - it's true. So whats the point of restricting kind, good-natured Americans who are just looking to keep themselves and others out of harms way. Now you all may call me young and naive for having a strong opinion on this matter but as a young women at age 15, I have already promised myself that I'm going to purchase a firearm when I turn 18. Purely to keep myself and my family safe. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. God Bless

All the people that you mentioned were criminals and they always have guns illegally. Why don't you look up news about non criminals who intervene to stop a crime?

It happens often.

I have used mine twice in self defense and I might not be alive today if I had not. It is nice to have an equalizer when a crook threatens you with their weapon.

EDIT:
About 40% of gun deaths are self inflicted. Those people would just use pills, razors or a tall bldg if they didn't have a gun.

What's your point?

In Rwanda 2 million killed with machetes.

Get rid of the gun and people will just use bombs, like they do in the middle east... which usually kills a lot more people...

You're not going to stop CRAZY.... figure it out already!

Yes, but first you explain how all the gun laws on the books right now have prevented all that, it has done NOTHING to stop it, just like Prohibition did nothing to stop the flow of alcohol

In US, "Repeated polling has found that a majority of Americans believe the constitution ensures their right to own a gun" (wiki).

Most US people supports gun ownership. I posted a couple anti gun questions & as result, i received a lot of hateful or hatred answers. Some of them blindly support gun ownership without any good reasons. Some said "gun ownership is enshrined in the constitution and thats the governing rule of this country, which should be abided by all, irrespective of personal opinion".
