Yes we do. So do liberals. It's called "jury service". When you get a summons, you do your civic duty. If you had a doctor amputate the wrong limb, or remove a healthy body part, what's that worth to you?

Excellent question.

True tort reform requires looking into the psyche of the American juror...

Yes, if they make it through jury selection, which is done by the lawyers represeting each side.

People don't choose what trials they can be jurors for.

That's not a question found on any jurists pre screening questionnaire .

My cousin was messed up at birth by a company doctor that turned out not even to be licensed. My aunt and uncle sued, and won a settlement of $8 million, settled out of court. It took every dime of that to raise this poor kid, who suffered from the most debilitating case of kernicterus any doctor and/or physical therapist had ever seen. He died at 19, as a direct result of his condition, and if it hadn't been for that settlement, he would have died years earlier.

I can tell the difference between a frivolous claim and a legitimate claim, based on this experience, so maybe I should be on these juries.

Probably, but who would know? I have never had to mark my ideology on a juror form.
