Do Oregon And Washington State Have Residency Reciprocity For Getting In-state Rates For College?

I heard a little rumor that if you lived in Oregon, you could go to college in Washington state as if you were a Washington resident, getting in-state tuition there... or vice versa. I can't seem to find anything about this online, though, so it may just be a rumor.

Do Oregon And Washington State Have Residency Reciprocity For Getting In-state Rates For College?

Students who are residents of WICHE states are eligible to request a reduced tuition rate of 150% of resident tuition at participating two- and four-year college programs outside of their home state. The WUE reduced tuition rate is not automatically awarded to all eligible candidates. Many institutions limit the number of new WUE awards each academic year, so apply early! WICHE states include: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming.http://wiche.edu/wueHope this helps.   helpful101 41 months ago http://wiche.edu/wue

Reciprocity QuestionsThe University of Washington does not have reciprocity agreements with neighboring states for undergraduate, graduate, dental, pharmacy, or law students. There is a reciprocity program for medical students as described below.Individual community colleges and four-year universities within the Idaho and Oregon border regions may, at their discretion, offer residency rates to border state students; please inquire with the school of choice about tuition rates as Idaho or Oregon students. There are exchange programs available for students who retain residency in their home state. The UW Residence Classification Office is NOT involved in any way with these programs. For information on these programs, students should consult the following websites: * Undergraduate students: Western Undergraduate Exchange(WUE) -- a program of the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education(WICHE) * Medical students: Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, Idaho(WWAMI)

Do Oregon And Washington State Have Residency Reciprocity For Getting In-state Rates For College?

newfietom said: 1 I went to college in a town right on the PA/NY border. There were three or four schools within a 30-mile radius and they each extended in-state rates to residents of the counties in which the schools were located. I don't know if they still do that, but I doubt it would be something they'd make widely known except within that area. So, my recommendation would be to contact some schools that are close to the border. Good Luck. 55 months ago
