Do you agree with my wife that I'm the 'bad guy' for firing one of my employees because he used to date her?

One of those things...You are damned if you do and you are damned if you don't.

You were in the wrong, you seem very childish for your age, and very insecure like the other poster said. If you don't trust your wife to cheat on you, then leave her, since you must not love her that much. I doubt very much that he would "bend her over the desk for old times sake." Why would he risk her future and family along with his own? I would be angry with you too.

She is upset because it wasn't his fault you hired him in the first place. I see a compromise here. You liked the guy - he was great. How about your wife find another office (HOME?) to do her business in and then he can keep his job and everyone wins

I know if I were in your shoes, I would HATE knowing he was there and I'd be kicking myself in the butt - then I would say - well I HIRED HIM. - think about it and compromise
