Do You Feel That My Health Insurance Premium Is Too High? Advice Please.

Postby Claegtun » Fri Jan 31, 2014 11:45 pm

I ask this because I don't know if I am paying too much or if it is in line with the average premium. I just got a notice that it will cost another $100 per month starting in Nov. It is now running $700 per month with a $5,000 deductible. I haven't ever used it for anything other than something very minor and even then, rarely.(foot problem, a cold, shingles) I have had the same insurance for 15 years. It is a well known, national company. I am able to afford it, at least for now, but I feel that I am insuranced to death. Health insurance alone breaks down to $175 per week! Then there is car insurance, home insurance, life insurance, too. Oh...........and, respectfully, no insurance salespeople need reply, please!

I know my son has health insurance through Blue Cross and has a high deductable but nothing like you have and he pays $250.00 a month period. Ig you have insurance through a job you shouldn't be paying more than $250.00 for a family plan. You need to start shopping around, unless you have a special health problem, and that is why the cost is so high.

CrystalOTMommy said: 1 Is this for just you or is it a family plan? We were paying exactly the same amount for 2 adults and a child(all very healthy) with a $5,000 deductible. Still seems horribly high and every year it seemed to go up almost $100. It's so frustrating to spend so much for what seems like no benefit ... and then to have to spend an additional $5,000 to actually receive any benefits is maddening. 64 months ago
