Do you feel that schools should make training in non-religious morals and ethics mandatory?

Since some parents are negligent in attending to their children I think that perhaps mandatory classes teaching and drilling students in ethics and morals along with mandatory service hours could be beneficial and help save the youth from lives of crime. I think the problem with the school system is the lack of emphasis on these two very important things. Teachers do not emphasize enough on the consequences of violating ethics and because the children aren't afraid or are ignorant of what irreparable harm could come of the negative actions they do then this increases the chances of them increasing in criminal behaviors. Inculcating good values and proper behavior in our posterity shouldn't come to a stop in Kindergarten !

Those who exhibit hostile or disruptive behaviors that impede the learning process of both others and themselves should be subjected to psychological testing to determine whether or not the student in question has a problem rooted in the psyche. They can then be separated into classes taught by instructors specializing in the instruction of people with such problems.

Non-religious morals? Isn't that an oxymoron or something?

A good instructor will always teach the material, and teach proper morals of education and psychology without insulting someones religion belief. With the youth of today it is very hard for them to even sit in class.

Yup. If you reference the Ferry Laws, it is the first line of article one.

Keep in mind that human morals and ethics are 99% exactly the same for the secular and religious world. Morality and ethics don't originate from religions ....... they exist regardless of the presence, or non presence, of religions. To know of morals/ethics is a part of our human intellectual biology.
