I was considering LPN. They make about 15-17.00 an hour or so. However.. I hate the medical field. But.. there is not many choices left to be honest. I have no desire to do RN. I am the kind who has to love what I do... OR... as least like it a lot and enough to want to look forward to the next day.. or else I will quit.
My other two choices would be pharmacy tech. But.. where I live they only pay 11-12.00 an hour. If that. Other states the pay may be higher. Cosmetology.. but that is only good if you don't plan to ever move and can keep your clients coming back. If not.. you have to start from ground level to rebuild yourself all over again. Last choice.. Legal assistant. Both Cosmetology and Legal Assistant take about a year. Legal actually takes 15 months. But.. law is more interesting and yet.. all the offices want prior experience and some in litigation or a specialty area of law. Which I did have some bankruptcy exposure once as a paralegal with only a certificate which is not acceptable in every state. But.. law to me is more interesting then Cosmetology. Also.. the money is better and more steady. The last is CNA .. which I would have to get before the LPN.. which in whole can take me three years al together when you add in a biology class for four months I need to take and then the wait to come up higher on the list.
CNA is more intense then a home health aide.. which they are very part time.. close in pay.
There is also a four month Esthetician course But.. you have to be there every day for four months and I need to have at least one day free for my mother whom I help care for whom has cancer. I am grasping at straws at this point. I am trying to figure this out and have dissected them all. The ones I like to do .. are hard or not easy to get into jobs.. OR.. if you do.. hard to find another. Or the school won't give one day off a week. One school for Esthetician is cash or credit for ten grand.. no financial or student loan available and the other place no day off per week.
Legal and Aveda Cosmetolgy school is flexible with scheduling. I like the naturalness to Aveda and green. But.. heard several people say that they knew others who were unable to get jobs at an Aveda salon. Also.. its not steady stable income..
My very .... last option would be to become a Relator. I would have to be available full time.. I heard and spoke to brokers who said .. they won't hire or let those go who can't do this full time.
You get 3% I think or 6 not.. too sure which. But you may not sell a house for 6-8 months and that is just one house. To live on you need to sell more then one. I would imagine in order to stretch out the dollar. I don't want a real hard job. One that I love or like a lot and it comes easy for me to do. I don't want a very physical job. I have had one car accident too many. I am in my forties. I just need to make a decision based on what will and won't pay my rent and more. Not just get by on. Its only me right now. Thanks Everyone.
I want a job .. that if and when I were to move around.. I would be able to find a job fast. However .. I need to again enjoy what I do to some degree. I am very creative. I am just afraid of moving some day in the near future and not being able to land a job fast enough Or.. if a job did not work out.. I will be sitting home for many months or more without work.. Iike I am now for way too long.
But.. this is not a reason to go into a profession like nursing that you need to love and have it be something you want to do for life.. which by far it is no where near neither. I am pursuing my arts.. which is my talent and passion. Who I am at the core. Please help.. direct and ease my mind here. At least I limited my choices down to these only.
