A couple days ago I read about another type of copyright internet law on the Y! front page. It said that if you got 6 strikes then they punish you somehow. Sounds scary. It was made by the movie/music/etc companies surprise surprise!

Apparently you will be monitored & if you do something that THEY consider bad, not the gov, these companies they will take action. After strike 5 they will either slow your connection down or they will have to "educate" you on legal ways. They just send you to their own companies' website, how convenient...

You know downloading stuff takes forever. No person who has the money to buy the dvd will get it online. I even hear from people who download from netflix or whatever it takes so long to download! And this is an official place! They are losing profits not from piracy, but because their movies suck! Plenty of times I could have seen movies for FREE! And I still did not see them cuz they sucked so much. At this point you have to pay me to sit though your sucky movies!

Really! I don't have to see them to tell that they are stupid! I don't want to see them! You are losing money cuz your movies suck NOT cuz of piracy! I hope they are not wasting time considering this to be a law, instead of considering a law for harsher punishment on child molesters or something!

From the perspective of the music and movie industries, they have to take action to protect their copyright. Whether or not their current actions are proper is debatable. But at the same time, they can't just sit back and do nothing.
