what is wrong is that you are comparing apples and oranges. the union members in wisconsin have already agreed to take a reduction in benefits in order to do their share to help balance the budget - just as, at the time it happened, they agreed to take the benefit package in lieu of a cost of living increase.what the governor is trying to do is prohibit collective bargaining; which is a totally different matter, altogether. he already HAS what he claims to want - the reduction in cost.   TheLightWorks 34 months ago

Who knows the retirement and health care for members of Congress is the same as that for Federal workers? Who knows the federal work force has been jsut about the same since the late 50's? I was happy with CSRS(FERS now) and the health plan, but I had better in Texas. And that is not known as a worker's paradise. But states are different and in those states where they have attained more rights, there is no good reason to strip them away. We may all want to do that in the future.Good managers are those who can work with the Unions. I am sure the President has people who know every bit of this. Coming from Illinois, he has to know a lot himself. Tell me what is wrong.   Gary4books 34 months ago
