Family Problems about my Baby Shower?

My sisters have offered to give me a baby shower as a gift.
Which is all handy dandy and very nice of them.
The problem.
They chose a date I wasnt confertable with.They told me I had to do it that date becuse one of them couldnt go if it was when I wanted it. The date they chose my sister-in-law (my husbands really, but I shes family too now) cant go and really wants to. As well as I would be 37 weeks and didnt want to take the chance of going into labor while there. Also, the place they want it at is over an hour away. I told them it needed to be in the town i live in because my dr is here and its near my due date. Well, they said no. It has to be in the other town and if something happens, those doctors are good enough. They are so angry with me and I them.
I told them I'll go ahead and do my own baby shower. I feel like this is ridiculous. Am I really being out of line for wanting a date Im confertable with and wanting to be my doctor while I'm 37 weeks? I feel terrrible really. I dont know what the right thing was.

It is in poor taste to throw your own baby shower. Just don't do it. People won't come. Couldn't some friends in your town, or your sister in law (your husband's brother's wife is still your sister in law -- I love mine, too!) do it for you and invite your sisters, either to help with it or to attend as guests?

Do you have a mother or an aunt who could talk to your sisters about how unreasonable they're being? If it has to be so flipping close to your due date, it should be in the town where you live. Otherwise they should have it afterward and then you'll have a better idea of what you have and what you still need.

do you have friends to help you w your shower? tell your sisters no thank you and that you and some friends will be taking care of it.
