Filing for bankruptcy with a lawsuit pending?

Postby karlitis » Wed Oct 26, 2011 1:28 am

A man who had a class action lawsuit filed against him just filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy. The funny thing is that he owns muliple venues and is even on a couple of shows on TV. What does this mean for the lawsuit? Does it just get put on hold or something?

Filing for bankruptcy with a lawsuit pending?

It means the bankruptcy court will take over and decide what if anything should be
done with the assets vs any liabilities that may exist -

The person that filed the case with the court does not have any say in the matter
