From your experience, what areas of law practice?

Postby darce » Wed Nov 30, 2011 4:27 am

would you recommend and which would you avoid?

Here's the deal: I'm finishing up my first year at a pretty good law school and I'm doing well. It isn't my passion but I have to do some type of work for a living and I'd rather do this than work in a cubicle all day.

I'm not mean or dishonest enough to be a prosecutor, defense attorney or litigator. Appellate law is interesting, but exceptionally competitive.

I've been considering Bankruptcy and Real Estate as both of those seem relatively laid back and affords one a bit better work-life balance.

Any input is appreciated.

but, bottom line is you're going to work for whoever pays you. lawyers are a cross between prostitute and hired gun. get the money upfront, because the gratitude curve is pretty steep [down]

I have sold and bought real estate and know the Agents do very little for the 6 % fee they charge.

I even wrote a book about them/
