Hi, I just finished my junior year and I am wondering if you guys think I have the qualifications to get into Cornell University Mathematics. Here are my qualifications:
3.7 unweighted GPA
4.2 weighted
1970 SAT (720 math, 610 critical reading, 640 writing)
770 math level 2 SAT subject test (my only other math/science subject test is a 660 on physics, although I have a 730 on world history and 700 on US history if that makes any difference)
I've taken 6 AP classes (world history, US history, English language and composition, Physics B, Calculus AB, biology)
I am taking 5 AP classes next year as a senior (calculus BC, chemistry, English literature and composition, government, statistics)
I got an A both semesters this past year in Calculus AB, and I took the AP test and I'm pretty confident that I got a 5 (I got a 5 on three practice tests, so for your opinion please assume that I got a 5 on it because I don't hear back for a few more weeks). I really love math it's my favorite subject (before you say anything, I'm not Asian :p haha) and I would love to pursue a career in the field.
I know my SAT score is not very good (the math is alright though) but I will be taking the SAT one more time in October before I apply to Cornell through early action (so please take that into account, give advice, etc)
I also know that getting into the Ivys is a crapshoot. It is a lot of luck. But just strictly academically speaking, how am I looking? Thank you so much! :)
I am also looking seriously at the following schools: UC Davis, UCSD, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Boston University. How do you think I am looking academically speaking for those schools? I am a California resident if it makes any difference, Thanks so much again guys! I really appreciate it.
