In most states now, laws prohibit sex offenders living within a 1000' of schools, some go beyond that and include a variety of other things such as daycare, parks,etc...
Has anyone noticed whether such laws have begun to impact prices? I know people who would never buy a house under powerlines, on the off chance they do cause cancer. There is a Chinese custom of southern facing houses being lucky, which has effected sales in California. Has "being sex predator friendly" hurt the sale prices of houses?
I've seen at least one news paper story of a Florida man who specialized in high priced rentals in a particular neighborhood, which was one of the few in the county where sex offenders could live. He'd made high rents catering to such offenders.
