How come youtube is not closed down?

Hi to everyone i was looking at the news a few days ago about all the online movie sharing sites being closed down due to copyright laws. I was on youtube today and was thinking way was youtube not closed down there breaking all of the copyright laws playing everyones songs?

A rule of fair use known as "safe harbouring". This rule means that if a user of a site has uploaded copyrighted material then, the site won't get in trouble, only the user.

You tube have a special copyright that gives then the right to play artists official videos but they have to pay £,£££ to have the right. It's the people that are not official you tube admins that make it bad:/

I would state that youtube playing songs is not copy right infringement because you tube does not upload the content and regularly scans their site for different content......

They are going to hard a hard time trying to take down such a big company. youtube is the most popular website. right next to facebook.
