How do I convert a MS Works Word document to PDF?

Postby ashly » Fri Nov 18, 2011 6:36 pm

I need to know how to do this. I have an idea that I want to patent, but the online patent office only accepts PDF files. I've searched for this through google, but have met nothing but dead ends. Does anyone on Yahoo Answers know how to convert a MS Works Word document to PDF? Please help. Thank you.

It is a free, smart and integrated PDF creation program that converts most printable Windows applications including Word, Excel & PowerPoint to PDF file in one mouse click.

In Office 2010 and Office 2007, you can also save office files as PDF directly.
1.Save office 2010 as PDF

The options give by the previous posters do not always work. The PDF converter does not always convert everything in your document. It has trouble with some fonts and with some equations and so on.

Alternatives include, printing the document and scanning the printed pages to pdf.

Alternatively, you can print the document and file it by mail. If you use ExpressMail by the post office, you get the date you mailed it as the "filing date".

You really need the assistance of a Patent Agent or Patent Attorney. If you are asking this question, the chances are pretty high that you dont know enough to file a successful patent application.

What office version are you using?
For office 2007, you can download a free add-in named save as PDF/XPS and then save word to pdf;
the add-in is built in office 2010, so you can directly save office to pdf; no need to download it; but it doesn't support office 2003 version, and you need a third party software - pdf creator to convert ms word document to pdf.
