How do i smellproof my apartment?

Postby bercnan72 » Tue Jan 10, 2012 6:17 pm

My friend and I are moving into a new apartment and... i'm just going to come right out with it, we both smoke vast quantities of marijuana daily. I would really like it if my neighbors couldn't smell it from outside my apartment, and I don't much care what the inside smells like. We only have one adjoining property and it's above us. Now, with that information in mind, it would be great if somebody with smellproofing experience could help me out here. I've decided to buy air fresheners for every room in the apartment, to vaporize only when possible, burn incense all day to mask the smell, put a wet towel in the crack of the door, hang heavy curtains over the windows, and buy little room fans to disperse the smoke.

A little housewife trick of mine for foul odours, is to leave a small bowl of white vinegar near the source of the odour(s). It might smell like vinegar for the first little while, especially if you leave more than 2 bowls out at a time, but hey, wouldn't you rather have your neighbours thinking you're pickling carrots, rather than smoking pot? ;)

Best bet is to buy an air cleaner that has a hepa filter you can replace.
